The Statue of Liberty Enlightening the World was a gift of friendship from the people of France on the 100th anniversary of U.S. independence in 1876, dedicated on Oct. 28, 1886. Standing at the entrance to New York Harbor, it has welcomed millions of immigrants to the USA ever since. Advance planning is the key to a Statue of Liberty visit as there a thousands of tourists trying to take a closer look every day.
Tours which include a ferry to Liberty and Ellis Island will cost $25 for adults, $16 for children 4 – 12 and $21 for seniors. They last for approximately 3 hours. More ticket information can be found here:
